Symbolic Cannibalism
Sometimes when I read to Rose, I jokingly grab at pictures of food and pretend to eat them. She thinks it's funny and now loves to pretend to eat the pictures of grapes, corn, and bread in her books. Just a second ago I was showing her pictures of Simon on the computer, and she apparently thought he was cute enough to eat. She kept grabbing at the screen and putting her hand to her mouth, making chewing sounds. Yummy!

Ohhh, that's adorable! Goes to show that mothers aren't crazy for saying, "You're so cute, I could eat you!" All ages with good "taste" can see that!
