Last Saturday we took a little sledding trip to Großer Feldberg with a big group of people. Our car still isn't here so the others kindly let us squeeze in here and there. Frankfurt is apparently in a "bowl" of sorts, so it doesn't snow a lot in the city itself, but after a 30-minute drive we were in a veritable Winter Wonderland. We never actually made it to the top of the mountain where there was a sledding spot because we had to park far away and various children were having meltdowns; instead, we hiked along the trail and played in the snow. I also don't think we were well enough equipped to handle the cold. Snow was getting in Jasmine's boots and Rose's gloves. We will reevaluate our gear, re-equip, and make it all the way to the top next time. :) But we are grateful we got a little taste of the beautiful snowy forest!
