Miss Personality

Rose is really starting to become more "human," in the sense that she's becoming more social and developing little quirks (she also looks less like a reptile). One of her new quirks is her love of nudity. Even my mom has noticed that she quiets down when her diaper comes off to get a change. Well, yesterday she was crying up a storm and I couldn't really console her. I thought I'd swaddle her since that usually helps. I didn't want her to get too hot in the blanket, so I took off her clothes. Instant silence. She just lay there on the couch, babbling and cooing and basking in her naked freedom.

Victory!

Rose will also let you know if she doesn't like something. Sometimes when she's eating, her milk will go down the wrong pipe (Usually because it's gushing forth at a rapid rate. I discovered myself spurting--yes, spurting, not leaking--the other day) Anyway, back to Rose. If her food goes down the wrong pipe, she'll turn her head and cough a few times. The other day she did this and then let out a totally fake one-syllable cry, after which she merrily turned her head and went back to business. It's like she just wanted me to know how inconvenient that was for her. She's pretty particular when it comes to eating and tastes. Here she is refusing her yucky plastic-tasting pacifier:

So there you have it. My little girl, full of personality.
