Someone recently told me that within reason it's good to do fun, crazy things around the house with your children, even when they're really young. This came from someone whose youngest is now 18 years old. She added that as her children grew older, they were really close to her and trusted and supported her in ways unimaginable, and she knows it's because she paid more attention to them than to the laundry and dishes that would always be there anyway.
