I definitely practiced "letter of play" rather than "spirit of play" today, because I was very reluctant to actually let the kids "help."
We bought the K'nex a few years ago when we invited some friends and their kids to dinner. We were a childless couple, so if it weren't for the K'nex, the only thing for the kids to do in our 900 sq. ft. apartment would have been to build towers out of tupperware. Now our own kids are finally getting some use out of them. And by "our own kids," I mean me.

Are you sure your master's isn't in mechanical engineering? Your ferris wheel is fantastique. Although Rose and Simon didn't get to play much of a part in the planning and execution of this project, they look adorable, sitting there in awe of your ingenuity. Good job, Chrissie!
