"Wild Lights"

Yesterday Sevak and I went to the Living Desert Zoo to see its "Wild Lights" display. It was rather nice, and probably the only place you'd see a lit-up display of Santa golfing. Speaking of Santa, he happened to be there in person, and I for one wasn't embarrassed to sit on his lap (Sevak, however, declined). Here's a pic:

He even gave me candy! I felt a little bad accepting it in the midst of all the young children, but Santa kept insisting!

The desert can be pretty chilly at night (I could actually see my breath), so the zoo set up some nice little fires. We roasted marshmallows around them and made s'mores. Here's Sevak enjoying one:

Here are some of our friends (from L-R: Bram, Kathryn, Abram, Colby, Sarah):

So, even though they wear short-sleeved shirts and golf on snowless greens during the day, desert people sure know how to get into the Christmas spirit at night!

Go, "Festive Desert Folk"! Did you stop for a date shake after seeing Santa? Now, that's what a true desert-dweller would do!
