Baganara Island

This past weekend we went to Baganara Island. We crossed the Demerara River and drove to Parika, and from there we took a boat to the island (which is on the Essequibo River). There's a little resort there and it was very peaceful and nice.

Getting ready to get on the boat

That thing was just a tad large on Jasmine

 Enjoying lunch après swim

 Kayaking

Lately Jasmine is a fan of wagging her finger to emphasize negation (like, when we read Hop on Pop and get to the part where the kids are jumping on their dad, she always has to shake her little finger and say, "not pop uh pop"). Here she was telling me to not take a picture of her.

 Felt like a kid again!

 Welcome to Baganara Island Airport

Came upon a leaf cutter ant highway

Too much fun in one day

Rose made a heart around her daddy

Lounging and checking out the birds who flew into the gazebo

I was not trying to pose, despite how it looks :)

 Sweet

The morning we left the tide was quite low so we had less space to swim in the cordoned-off area. The kids still had fun gathering clayish mud to make pottery.
