Remember how I posted about Rose's aquaphobia here? Well it seems as if she has overcome that fear. Yesterday we went to Rock Canyon with our little friends and she had a grand old time splashing around! At first she was a little apprehensive, but we had some snacks and didn't get in the river right off the bat. When the kids began playing around in the water, she just walked on over and had me hold her hand as she stepped in. As the day progressed she tried to go in whenever she pleased, whether I condoned it or not. Needless to say she got pretty soaked.
Lately Rose has also been a fan of "chillin'." I've posted about how she likes to just lie in the grass and relax; the other day (at Rock Canyon) she climbed into her little buddy's stroller and just lay down, as it was in a reclined position. She looked so calm...until the other babies started peering in on her. She decided that she didn't want them to encroach on her relaxation time, and got pretty defensive. We had to go soon, anyway, so I made her relax in her stroller. She had her arm sticking out on the walk home--it looked like she was riding in a convertible, just enjoying the breeze (oh, and let me mention that she was also topless, due to the previous water play). Good ol' summer days.

Sounds like good old-fashioned peer pressure got Rose in the water. Oh, it starts so young! ;)
What progress! That's wonderful. Maybe she'll even compete in swimming or diving in high school and then move on to the Olympics. And so cute that as busy, curious, and adventurous as she is, she still knows how to chill and soak in these beautiful days!
